DIFFERENT SHAPES OF GEMSTONES AND THEIR MEANINGS.
Each crystal or gemstone can be found in many different shapes but actually each one has specific properties. Here are some of them:
TUMBLED STONES
Their shape has been smoothed or polished from their raw form. Ideal for meditation, affirmations and altar work. This shape evens gentle energy.
ABUNDANCE STONES
This is basically an elongated crystal with clustered, smaller crystals around it. This is perfect for wealth and abundance, hence it's name. Useful, for example, to use in business
NATURAL POINT STONES
Not necessarily a wand-like crystal, they're any part of a faceted crystal with a point that has formed natuarally and not precisely perfected. These are useful to draw energy from a body or to the body. Perfect for cleansing and healing.
GENERATOR STONES
A Generator will have six facets ( of equal or unequal proportions) that meet into one point. It gets it's name for it's ability to generate amplified energy, boosting the power of other stones, or the stone it's made of. This type of formation is also very powerful for charging other stones.
GEODES
Geodes have the ability to hold energy within and soften it allowing it to natutally flow out and disperse evenly. These formations are great for protection or for assisting with healing abusive habits such as alcoholism and abusive internal monologues.
RAW STONES
Raw stones are in their natural form and have not been smoothed, polished or altered. Also they're often considered as more fragile than it's relatives. They are great for all spiritual work.
PYRAMID STONES
This refers to four equal triangle faces and a square base. This is pretty often used in healing, its useful for warding off negative energy and also removing blocks from the chakra system. Also good for affirmations and manifestation work.
SPHERES
These powerful formations are great for scrying. As it's form is smooth from every possible angle, is believed that light energy and time pass through it with no tules or hindrances, hence their scrying abilities.
CUBES
Perfect for grounding energies and intentions, believed that energy is contained and enhanced in this stone shape. Transmutes negative to positive energy, perfect for mindfulness and concentration.
EGG
Similar to a sphere, crystal eggs emit their energy from all sides but with a focal point at the top. The egg resembles fertility and life and is excellent for personal transformation starting fresh beginnings, new projects, or brainstorming ideas. Eggs support new beginnings and transformations.
WANDS
Crystal wands come in many varieties ranging in shape, size, and type. Some wands are double terminated (DT) with a point at each end, some are pointed at one end and rounded at the other, and some wands ate typically called massage wands. They can be faceted with 6 sides or fully rounded and smooth. You can even use a natural crystal point, Quartz, Smoky Quartz, Citrine, or Amethyst roots can also be used as wands since they also have points and can even be double terminated. Each shape and type of crystal wand will have a different effect on our energetic field.
PALM STONES
Palm stones is more of a blanket term. There are many types of palm stones: thumb stones and touch stones. They each have specific features, but sometimes in the market the names can be interchanged.
HEARTS
Hearts are very similar to palm stones, they are just shaped to look like a heart. Hearts can range in many sizes and styles. They connect with the energy of the heart chakra and emit their energy in a very loving and gentle manner while giving us a sense of peace and harmony. Hearts can be good for those who are sensitive to the energies of crystals since their energy output is softer.
SEER STONE
A seer stone is a roundish chunk of material that has been polished on one side. The polished area looks like a window inside the stone due to it's optical effect. This type of carving is normally made in Rose Quartz, Angelite, or Smoky Quartz. Some seer stones are formed from stones that have natuarally been polished from running water, like a river or ground water. This gives the stone a matte and rounded look, manufacturers will then slice a piece of the crystal off and polish the surface so inside of the stone can be seen, much like a window. Seer stones are also known as window quartz.
FREEFORM STONES
A freeform is a chunk of material that is carved typically in an irregular rounded shape, sometimes if a stone grows a particular way or requires a specific type of cut/polish they will appear more flat, like Labradorite for example. Freeforms come in all sizes and each one is unique and highlights the natural beauty of any stone. Freeforms do not have a specific meaning or special output of energy like the rest of the shapes but that doesn't mean they don't still fill a room with good vibes and beauty.
FLAMES
A flame is similar to a freeform but they taper off at the top and they resemble the organic movement of a flame, they kind of remind me of soft serve ice cream cones! Flames can be more simplistic and geometric in style as well.
